1) How long can messages be?

You can send up to 160 characters in a single SMS. You can join up to 3 SMS per message for long SMS.

2) Do you support Unicode ?

Unicode is supported. Up to 70 characters for a single SMS.

3) What is the speed of your SMS delivery ?

Under normal circumstances, SMS are usually delivered within seconds; depending on the number of recipients of your SMS blast. During peak hours, there could be a short delay where exchange networks are congested. Additional delays may occur if the recipient's phone is switched off or out of the coverage area. When this happens, a carrier will attempt to deliver your SMS for up to the validity period; between 24 hours to 72 hours. SMS delivery speed in Singapore is about 10 SMS per second.

4) Is your Web portal and API service secured ?

This is a Cloud service where your SMS and contact databases are stored in the parent datacentre in Europe. We can endorse a NDA (Non Disclosure Agreement) with your organisation if required.

5) Do Penny SMS provide mobile number database ?

No. We do not provide mobile number database. In fact we discourage spamming of unsolicited SMS. SMSes

6) What is the expiry date for the purchased SMS credits ?

The answer is no. Our business is long term.

7) What is the supported uploading file format ?

At least one column must contain the recipient mobile number in international format.Example: 6591234567 (where 65 is the Singapore country code and 91234567 is the 8 digits mobile number) Supported formats: .txt, .csv, .xls.

9) Will my recipients on roaming SMS service be charged ?

No, they would not be charged.

10) What is the maximum length for the FREE Sender name or number ?

Maximum length for the Sender name is 11 alphanumeric characters and up to 16 digits for Sender numeric ID.
